Health screening by the nurse, who will also measure the donor’s body temperature

Skin disinfection
Local anaesthetics will be applied as required before venepuncture. All needles are sterilized and used only once, to protect donors from infection
Blood sample will be taken for blood type, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, syphilis and human T-lymphotropic virus testing
The donation will last about 7-12 minutes.
After donation, donors can rest and enjoy the drinks and snacks offered to replenish the fluid lost.
