“Move the Community Around & Join Give Blood Alliance” ceremony

The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) has launched the “Give Blood Alliance” campaign this year to encourage members of the public to donate blood and become regular donors. Corporates and community groups have already been showing support by joining the Alliance. 

The BTS kicked off the “Move the Community Around & Join Give Blood Alliance” ceremony at the PopCorn shopping mall on 3 March with Dr Chui Tak Yi, JP, Under Secretary for Food & Health being the officiating guest.

“There is no substitute of blood. As there is a limited shelf life for blood products, we have to grow the donor community to maintain a stable blood bank. We will rally the support from all sectors and to recruit more regular donors to ensure a stable blood supply in Hong Kong,” said Dr Chui.
